San Francisco or Bust!

OMG...we just had the travel day from HELL!!! Bob took the wrong fork in the road and we ended up at the Oakland Bay Bridge (no way to turn around)...so we pay TWENTY DOLLARS toll and end up in downtown San Francisco with the trailer in tow. I knew SF was hilly, but that is a serious understatement!!! We were relying on Ms. Garmin (AKA: The Bitch-In-The-Box) at this point and she had us going down a hill that was almost vertical. The sign said, "Steep Crest/No Trucks". We had to back up and make a left turn...there was NO WAY we could have made that hill. Our transmission was getting hot as it was. We sure did get some looks from people as we drove around trying to find a less steep road. :-) We finally made it to the Golden Gate Bridge and crossed over to our RV park.  Bob is on the phone right now trying to find a Ford dealer to get our transmission checked out.  :-(  He has an appointment for tomorrow morning...fingers crossed!

05/02/13 - I just looked up the grade on the hill we decided was toooooo steep...it's a 37% grade.  That's just CRAZY!!!
