Bob's Birthday & Father's Day

Bob's 65th Birthday was last Thursday. Ericka made him her scrumptious carrot cake. We went to Lucky's Steakhouse in Davison for dinner and it was delicious! He's now on Medicare...dang he's OLD!!! He keeps wishing I was old enough to draw social security, but he's got 4 1/2 years to wait on that. He's still counting it down...

Father's Day was spent at Lakeshore Resort in Davison. Jason & the kids came out. They went kayaking on the lake. Bob went down to the lake to tell them to come back because it was time to go to my parents. On the way back to our campsite Jason & Connor had a collision with their bikes. Connor has pegs sticking out from his wheels and one of his front pegs went into the spokes of Jason's front wheel and stopped Jason "right now". Jason flew off his bike and landed on Connor. Bob & Jillian watched it happen, but it happened so fast that Bob could not do anything to prevent it or help them. Jason was pretty badly bruised and sore. Connor did not seem to be hurt at all. Thank goodness! I could have been much, much worse. Jason kept teasing Connor that he really liked the gifts they gave him yesterday morning and he didn't have to give him all those bruises and a wrecked bike for Father's Day. :-) By the time that was all over, it was too late for Jason & the kids to follow us to my parents, so they left to go home. It was just as well, since when we got there my parents weren't home. :-(

Last night Dan & Cheryl stopped by and brought Bob some of her famous Gorilla Bread that he loves. I don't what he's doing to have all these young women baking for him. :-)

Back in Michigan

We arrrived back in Michigan on May 4th. We spent the night before in Shipshewana, IN and had dinner at Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury. M-m-m-m-m!!! Always delicious! We spent our 1st week back at Lakeshore Resort in Davison and then went to Waldenwoods for 3 weeks. We came back to Davison this week on Tuesday for a week and then we'll be back at Waldenwoods for the 4th of July holiday. When we pulled into our campsite on Tuesday, a couple pulled up and started waving at us and we had no idea who they were. As soon as they got out of their truck we realized they were a couple that we camped with at Swamp Fox Campground in Florence, SC last fall. This is such a fantastic lifestyle! We meet so many wonderful people and then we we least expect it, we run into them again on the road. This IS the life!!! Jason, Connor & Jillian have spent the last 2 weekends with us and will be with us in Davison this weekend. We have sooooo enjoyed having them with us!

We have already started planning our winter trip out West. We are planning to attend the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in early October.

would never be so nice to each
other if they were awake!
