Today we met my sister, Sue, and her fiance, Bob, in Siesta Key, FL. Bob has a place in North Fort Myers where he spends the winters and Sue flies back & forth to visit him. Since Siesta Key was about 1/2 way between us, we met there. We had a great visit, even though it started raining shortly after we arrived. We ducked into Gilligan's Island Bar & Grill to avoid the rain and have a drink. Three rounds and lunch later, we finally were able to leave without getting soaked. Instead of driving I-75 back to Brooksville, we took the route along the coast and enjoyed the scenery, even though it was very overcast.

We stopped at Siesta Beach and Bob got out and got me a bag of the sand. The sand there is 99% pure quartz, which is very soft and cool on your feet. It has been named the whitest and finest sand in the world. While Bob was out getting the sand in the rain, Sue said, "He's going to get back in the truck and say, Here's your damn sand". And that is precisely what he said. :-)
This HUGE statue is in Sarasota. Sarasota has several neat statues and sculptures around the city.
